Tulip Time!

This weekend was another super fun time of visiting friends. We drove about 4 hours south of here to Pella to visit Gerrit and Michelle, and it also happened to be the weekend of the annual "Tulip Time" festival.

The last time we were in Pella for Tulip Time was in 2002 - 6 years ago. It was during Daves year-long internship, and our first year of marriage - So Pella is our "honeymoon" town! (:

We brought the kids down to the parade on Friday night - it was a bit windy and chilly. We shared the must-have funnel cakes, and later, as we shivered in the cold, got some coffee and cappaccino from Casey's - coffee never tasted so good! Here are a couple of pictures of the girls on their spot - although for viewing the parade, the warm laps of their moms was definitely the preferred place to sit!

On Sunday afternoon I took Ella to a couple of places where we could enjoy some of the beautiful tulips. Here are just a few of the pictures we took.

The yellow rose she is holding she got at the parade - for the price of a kiss on the cheek. I couldn't believe how quickly she gave out a kiss to someone she didn't know - just shows how excited and happy she was to get her "lellow" tulip!

Glad you had fun at tulip time too! The yellow ones are beautiful! Looks like Ella had a good time. We went with Annie and Tony. Of course, our kids were petering out a bit when it came time to take pictures together. Oh well. Hope you have fun with Rebo soon, wish I could join you.

PS, I don't think Ella is holding a rose. You must have CA on your mind!
