The next morning we were able to be present as the newly married couple opened their gifts. Ella was a wonderful "helper" through the whole thing. Upon opening one of the presents, they found a nice large roasting pan. But what is even more noteworthy is what was INSIDE this pan - a rubber chicken. Ella immediately "took" to this rubber chicken, making it talk, well, crow really, and carrying it with her wherever she went. That afternoon she took a nap, and needed to have it by her side to snuggle with. She played with it non-stop, feeding it (literally) and making it crow. ARRR ARRR ROOOOOO!!!!

She and the chicken were companions up until the day we left. Yes, I was a very mean mother and made us "forget" to take it with. The last thing I wanted was to hear "ARRR ARRR ROOOOO!" in the car for 7 hours straight. Or another thing to move for that matter. But for some reason, I don't think that's the last we'll be seeing of that chicken.....

You're right....it won't be the last time! I think that the chicken would love Minnesota!
